The order of the works in an exhibition can be fixed by means of a lock. This way, the works which have been included in the exhibition keep their order until the lock is deactivated. This allows you to plan the selection of works from the very beginning, during the preparatory stages of an exhibition, safe in the knowledge that it is not possible to make unintended changes.
Lock exhibition list: Video overview
This video shows you how you can change the order of works in an exhibition and activate the lock in order to prevent further changes in 83 seconds:
Sort exhibited works manually or alphabetically
To do this, simply create a new exhibition and fill the exhibition list with your selection of works. To change the position of a work, simply drag & drop it to where you want it. In addition, the works can also be sorted alphabetically by means of the available columns (Inventory number, Artist, Title, Work type or Notes).
Activate the lock on the exhibition list
In Exhibition View, the order of the works is displayed in the No. column. Following additions or changes in order, this column is only updated after the project has been saved. Even when changes have been made, the listed works maintain the order they had when the project was last saved.
If you would like to lock the current order of the exhibition, just click on Activate write protect on list of works
. In locked mode, the symbol is no longer grey but black, and the allocated numbers, which determine the order, can no longer be changed. In order to make changes again, just click on the area with the lock symbol again.
